DOHA: Al Arabi have announced the signing of Brazilian striker Paulinho from Serie A side livorno on a three-year contract.
Paulinho is Al Arabi's third summer signing after Qatari defender Khalid Nawaf and Spain's midfielder Pablo Hernandez.
Paulinho started his career atEsporte Clube Juventude. He was signed byLivornoon loan in January 2005. He made his Serie A debut on 17 April 2005 againstFiorentina.
In 2007–08 season he left for Serie B sideGrosseto and in 2009–10 season left forSorrento. His loan was extended in July 2010. With Livorno, he won promotion to Serie A in 2009, only a year after the team had been relegated from the same division.
He scored 48 goals in 160 appearances for the costal club.
Paulinho was capped for theBrazilian under-20 teamat the2005 South American Youth Championship.[5]He played 4 games and scored once.
