HAMILTON, New Zealand: Qatar U-20 team director Abdullah Al Hanzab
was disappointed after watching his side handed a 4-0 defeat by Portugal
on Wednesday, in their second Group C match of the FIFA U-20 World Cup
but he still belives in the squad’s chances of qualifiyng to the second round.
Qatar, who must now win their final Group C match to stand a chance of
qualifying, rarely threatened, although they did carve out the first chance
of the match.
“Although our team were organised, we could not matchthe quality of our
opponents. We were more confident in the second half, but after the third
goal we knewwe couldn't get back in the game. Lack of performance in
the 'details of the game' cost us. Experience won thematch today. We
still have room for progression. Hopefully this experience will better
the players”.
“With just enough luck, we can still progress to the last 16, we have to
beat Senegal first, who are a very good side with great traditions in
age group competetions”.
