DOHA: Qatar Football Association (QFA) Vice President Saud Al
Mohannadi has urged Qatar to seek out positive results as it begins
its journey to reach 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
On Tuesday, Qatar were drawn with China, Bhutan, Hong Kong and
Maldives in Group C of the Asian 2018 World Cup qualifying matches
which begin in June.
"We have a good chance to advance to the next stage but we have to
outperform our rival teams," Al Mohannadi said.
"We should not underestimate our rivals. We must respect that
they are also tough and they are also trying to reach Russia World
Cup," Al Mohannadi added.
"They (the players) should be focusedat all times. We have to advance
to eye a berth in the play-offs," he added.
"We should remember that these qualifiers will also serve as
qualifiers to reach the 2019 Asian Cup," he said.
