DOHA: Qatar Stars League side Al Gharafa have parted company with
coach Marcos Paqueta after failing to finish among the top four in the
domestic league for the second year on the trot.
The Brazilian tactician was told his services were no longer required following
the 3-1 defeat at the hands of Al Khuraitiyat last Sunday.
Tunisian coach Habib Al Sadiq has been put in charge of the side. His first game
will be the highly anticipated tie against relegation threatened Al Wakrah. And
with little at stake for Al Gharafa; Al Sadiq said he will use the match to jumpstart
his team’s preparations for the Emir Cup.
This is Al Sadiq’s second onus as caretaker for the yellow and blue outfit, his first
was two years ago when he took over from Brazilian Paolo Silas amid similar circumstances.
