Doha: Al Shahaniya came from behind to edge Al Wakra 2-1 to register their first win of the Qatar Stars League (QSL) here yesterday.
Caludio Luciano secured the equaliser for the winners in the 41st minute while Hamad Al Jehaini netted the match winner in the 78th minute.
Earlier, Mohsine Moutaouali had given the lead for Al Wakra.
Al Shahaniya now have four points from same number of matches.
In the other matches yesterday, Qatar Sports Club and Al Gharafa also registered wins to pick up full points.
In the first of the two matches played at Al Gharafa Stadium, a brace by Abdulghani Munir helped Al Gharafa to edge Al Sailiya 2-1. At the end of half time play the teams share a goal apiece.
Munir scored one goal in each half. The striker first struck with seven minutes left for the first half to neutralise the lead of Al Sailiya.
Coach Sami Traboulsi side took the lead in the 28 minute. Fawzi Ayiesh gave the lead for Al Sailiya as he successfully converted from the spot kick. Al Sailiya suffered a huge blow ten minutes into the second half. Defender Abdullah Afifa saw red from referee Fahad Marri for his second caution of the match.
Thereafter, Al Gharafa tried to take the put to good use the advantage of an extra man but the Al Sailiya defence somehow repulsed the attacks. Coach Jose Lopes side finally tasted success in the 80th minute with Munir scoring his second goal of the match. Al Gharafa now have nine points from five matches.
In the second match at Al Gharafa Stadium, Qatar SC defeated Al Khor 1-0 to script their third win.
Cho Toungcheol found the back of the net for Qatar SC with two minutes to go for the final whistle.
