Doha: Al Sadd will play Qatar SC in the Amir Cup final on Friday at the landmark Education City Stadium amid massive ticket sales.
In a press conference yesterday, the organizing committee for the tournament's title match asserted preparations were on track to produce an excellent showdown.
The Final kicks off at 7:00 pm. Al Sadd, led by Wesam Rizk, will start as favorites to win a record 19th title, but Qatar SC, coached by Youssef Al Noubi, defeated Al Rayyan and Al Gharafa to reach the final after 20 years.
“The demand for tickets is huge especially from Al Sadd SC fans since the sales started two days ago,” QFA Deputy Manager of Media Ali Al Salat told reporters at the Education City Stadium.
In addition to the spectacular final, the organizing committee will provide several sideline entertainment activities with prizes. Fans can win 52 prizes, including a car, in the 52nd edition.
Blind and visually impaired spectators will be able to enjoy the final using the same accessible services as the FIFA World Cup, Al Salat said. The Education City Stadium has hosted big competitions such the FIFA Arab Cup 2021, FIFA World Cup 2022, and AFC Asian Cup this year since its June 2020 opening.
Hassan Al Naimi, Venues Operations Manager, believed the 44,667-capacity facility will host another successful match. Fans may enter and exit smoothly because all preparations are on track.
The stadium has hosted big tournaments recently. We are forward to host the fans in this highly anticipated Amir Cup match.” The final is likely to draw a large crowd, therefore traffic is being managed.
Stadium Traffic Commander Nasser Al Naimi said, “The stadium gates will open at 4 pm and we are completely ready to ensure smooth movement of spectators with our highly experienced staff. Transportation Operations Head Ghanem Al Kuwari said: “There will be several routes to the stadium, but we advise fans to arrive early. For convenience, we recommend Doha Metro.”
