Riyadh: Al Sadd coach Lhoussaine Ammouta believes that his team can come back to win their AFC Champions League quarter-final against Al Hilal after they suffered a narrow 1-0 loss in the first leg at the King Fahd International Stadium on Tuesday.
Al Hilal grabbed a slender advantage in the tie as Salman Al Faraj's second-half strike gave the Saudi giants a 1-0 win over the 2011 champions.
"I expected a tough match and we gave a good performance which makes me satisfied before the second leg," said Ammouta.
"We didn't create many scoring chances and this was one of our negative aspects tonight and we should try our best to improve this side of our game."
"We showed a good performance and we relied more on defence because the players believed that the match would be very hard with the presence of the Al Hilal fans, who really surprised us with their big numbers.
"Al Hilal scored from a defensive mistake and we didn't know how to stop the same attack from our opponents which eventually resulted in the goal. But at the end of the day, I'm happy with the result and I hope that we can win in the second leg to go through."
