DOHA: Qatar Amateur League leaders Amwaaj are in contention forthe
titleafter an impressive5-0 victory over Lebanese Community.
Amwaaj have a tally of 48 points after 18 matches.
In the round's main attraction; title holders Al Waab had to huff and puff
to edge Coprpos 2-1 to maintain the one point deficit behing Amwaaj.
Al Waab are in second spot with 47 points from 18 matches while
Military Command is in third spot with 45 points from 18 matches a
notch above Kahramaa which has 32 points.
Doha, having managed to win 9 matches out of their 18 games, are in
fifth spot with a tally of 32 points.
Al Waab beat Copros in one of the league matches while Military
Command beat Al Matar 1-0. The only goal of the match was scored by
Mohammad Abdullah.
Lusail, placed at 7 on the standings table, beat Madinat Khalifa while
Smaisma edged Latin 4-2.
In eight spot is Smaisma while in 9th place is Copros on the standings table.
Latin are in 10th spot followed by Al Matara (11), Madinat Khalifa
(12), British Community (13), Sudanese Community (14), Al Tadamon (15)
and Lebanses Community at the bottom of the ratings.
