BELGRADE, Serbia: Asian champions Qatar take on Serbia in a 2022 FIFA World Cup, European Zone, qualifying match on Thursday. The Rajko Mitic Stadium will stage the clash set to kick-off at 8:00 pm Qatar Standard Time. The Qatari players - coached by Felix Sanchez - are looking forward to arresting their losing streak and restoring confidence. Al Annabi aims to deliver a strong performance before the 2021 Arab Cup, which Qatar will host from November 30. Although the results of the Maroons in the European qualifiers do not count, especially as it is the host of the 2022 World Cup, Qatar are looking for a victory. The Qatari team has prepared for the last two matches in the qualifiers by taking part in a training camp it started on the fourth of this month in Doha. The solid Serbian outfit, packed with experienced players, has a tally of 17 points and is ahead of second-placed Portugal by one point in Group A. Qatar will be missing skipper Hassan Al Haydos who is out injured. However, strikers Akram Afif and Almoez Ali will be available for selection. Qatar head to Azerbaijan for their next match on November 14. After the Serbia match on Thursday, Al Annabi's delegation will leave directly for Baku to face Azerbaijan, and the squad will return to Doha immediately after the match.
