Bavarian Minister President sees Qatar 2022 succeeding in removing sterotypes

DOHA: As part of his visit to the State of Qatar, H.E Dr. Horst Seehofer, Minister President of the German Federal State of Bavaria, visited the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) this week, accompanied by H.E Mr. Mohammed Al Sada, Minister of Energy & Industry, and met with SC Secretary General Hassan Al Thawadi.
H. E Dr. Seehofer and his accompanying delegation were briefed on the progress that has been achieved so far in the delivery of stadiums, infrastructure and programmes for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar™. Main areas discussed with the Bavarian delegation included a technical delivery summary, an overview of workers welfare measures implemented by the SC, details of the cooling technology being developed for the stadiums, as well as regional education and innovation initiatives like the Josoor Institute and Challenge 22.
Following his meeting with the SC Secretary General, H.E. Dr. Seehofer talked to the media and said: “With the potential which is given here in Qatar, we as Bavaria can also profit from that. We have just seen in our discussions with the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy that the stated aim is to use the lead up to the 2022 FIFA World Cup, and also the tournament itself, to remove the incredibly many stereotypes which exist, and I am very sure that they will succeed in doing so.”
The media delegation accompanying the Bavarian Minister President were also given a briefing and question and answer session on progress on stadiums and workers welfare for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar™ by Nasser Al Khater, SC Executive Director, Communications and Marketing.
