DOHA: Coach Djamel Belmadi on Thursday held a detailed discussions with QSL Head of competitions and football development Ahmed al-Harami on matters relating to the national squads preparing for key events.
The two discussed the match schedule of the second half of Qatar Stars League, which will be interrupted by the Gulf Cup and the Asian Cup.
Belmadi and Harami underlined qualification games linked to the 2018 FIFA World Cup and the 2019 Asian Cup as important matches for the national side.
Belmadi said QFA will be in constant touch with the coaches of the QSL clubs that will feature in future AFC Champions League events.
The Qatari coach said it was essential to prepare strong sides that could help 'Al Anabi' qualify for events like the FIFA World Cup and the Asian Cup.
Qatar will feature in the 2015 Asian Cup event next January.
