Doha: Meshaal Barsham of Qatar was named as the Best Goalkeeper in the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023™. He was instrumental in his team's second consecutive championship win. On Saturday, the Maroons defeated Jordan 3-1 in an exciting final at the Lusail Stadium. The goalkeeper, who will celebrate his 26th birthday on Wednesday, started six of Qatar's seven matches. Barsham, who play for Al Sadd, was a stalwart for Qatar throughout competition. With the help of the goalkeeper, Qatar became the fifth team in AFC Asian Cup history to win the tournament in consecutive years, joining Saudi Arabia, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Japan, and the Korea Republic.
