RIYADH:Qatar's Qassim Burhan won the Gulf Cup Golden Glove award for
the tournament’s best goalkeeper after helping his side to a 2-1 victory over
hosts Saudi Arabia in Wednesday's final.
Burhan heldoff competition from his Saudi counterpartWaleed Abdullah to
win the award.
The Al Gharafa player was presented with the award at Riyadh’s King Fahad
Stadium moments after the triumph.
“It is unbelievable, and an awesome experience,” said Burhan of his side’s victory,
which gave Qatar their third Gulf title.
The tall goalie was beaten only three times in the tournament and kept two clean
sheets, two goalless draws against Yemen and Bahrain in the group stage.
