DOHA: Felix Sanchez, coach of Qatar, on Tuesday announced a squad of 27 players for the 2022 FIFA World Cup and 2023 AFC Asian Cup qualifying matches against India and Oman. The matches will be played on June 3 and 7 in Doha. Qatar camp will launch its training for the two matches starting on Tuesday. Following the joint qualifiers, Qatar’s squad will prepare for Gold Cup matches to be played in the United States in July. Qatar are top of Group E with 16 points from six matches, compared to 12 points from five matches for Oman , 4 for Afghanistan , 3 for India and a point for Bangladesh. It is worth mentioning that Qatar kicked off proceedings with a 5-0 rout of Bangladesh last year.
