DOHA: Qatar Football Association (QFA) President Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani and Ahmed Ahmed, President of the African Football Confederation (CAF) on Friday signed an agreement to host the CAF Super Cup match on February 14, 2020.
The one-off clash will bring together Tunisian club Esperance, winners of the African Champions League 2019, and Egyptian club Zamalek, champions of the African Confederation Cup 2019.
Doha’s hosting of the African Super Cup match comes for the second time in a row within the framework of the cooperation agreement between QFA and CAF signed sometime back.
The CAF Super Cup 2020 will be one of three awaited versions to be hosted by Qatari capital in the coming years.
Moroccan Raja were crowned champions of the African Super Cup 2018 in its 27th edition and for the second time in its history after its victory over Esperance 2-1 in the match that took place at the Thani Bin Jassim Stadium.
