DOHA: FIFA Strategic Development Workshop on Monday opened with more than 20 federations from Asia, Africa and Oceania.
The two-day workshop - being held on the sidelines of the 2019 FIFA Club World Cup - ends on Tuesday.
Monday's session was attended by members of the Asian Football Association (AFC), CAF and Oceania OFC with participation of selected federation presidents, several FIFA CEOs and representatives of the Qatar Football Association (QFA).
The workshop was opened by Hani Ballan, a member of the Executive Office of QFA, who delivered a speech welcoming the participants.
Mansoor Al Ansari, Secretary-General of QFA, gave a detailed explanation of QFA's plans, strategy and vision 2021, in the presence of Ahmed Al Abbasi Director of Competitions and Development at Qatar Stars League, and Khalifa Al Haroon, Advisor to the Secretary-General.
The day's proceedings started with QFA's strategy and plans presented by Al Ansari. This was followed by a lecture from the Bridges Institute on how to build strategies and development plans presented by Gerard Akindes. The participants then moved to Al Bidda Tower for a visit to the headquarters of the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy.
On Tuesday, the participants at the workshop will watch FIFA Club World Cup semi-final match 2019 between the Brazilian Flamengo and Saudi giants Hilal at the iconic Khalifa International Stadium.
