DOHA: Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Thani, President of the Qatar Football Association (QFA), on Thuraday held the first meeting of the new Executive Committee that was elected on December 10.
The meeting was attended by all members: Vice president, Saud Abdulaziz Al Muhannadi, Sheikh Ahmed Bin Hamad Al Thani, Hani Talib Ballan, Ahmed Abdulaziz Al Buainain, Ibrahim Al Mohannadi and Abdulrahman Al Qahtani.
It was agreed during the meeting that Saud Abdul Aziz Al-Mohannadi will remain Vice President in the 2018-2022 cycle.
The appointment of Mansour Al Ansari as Secretary-General was also ratified for another four-year term.
The members also agreed that President of QFA will reconstitute the committees supporting the Federation.
It is worth mentioning that the existing elected council is expected to face great challenges.
One of the challenges will be the work related to hosting of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Next year will see the first and historic participation of Qatari football team in the Copa America tournament to be held in Brazil next June.
