DOHA: The French Ambassador to the State of Qatar, His Excellency Jean Christophe Peaucelle, and the German Ambassador to the State of Qatar, Her Excellency Angelica Schortus, joined over a thousand fans at the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy’s Brazil 2014 Fan Zone to watch Germany’s 1-0 quarter-final victory over France.
The Ambassadors enjoyed their experience at the fan zone, praising the atmosphere. Ambassador Peaucelle said, “It’s a wonderful and vibrant place, bringing people from all communities together.”
Ambassador Schortus said, “It’s my first time at the Fan Zone and there is a fantastic atmosphere with great activities and entertainment.”
The cooling technology was of particular interest to both Ambassadors, who remarked on the instant cooling impact they felt upon entering the Fan Zone.
Ambassador Peaucelle said, “The cooling technology is superb. The viewing experience is a very comfortable. You really can’t feel the heat.”
Ambassador Schortus said, “The outdoor cooling is great and I’m sure it will contribute to a great tournament in 2022.”
Ambassador Peaucelle agreed with this sentiment, stating that the 2022 FIFA World Cup™ in Qatar will be a “wonderful event.”
Following Germany’s victory, Ambassador Schortus praised the team and wished them well for the rest of the tournament.
