KUWAIT: The 23rd Gulf Cup of Nations is to be postponed for a year
after it a request was approved at a meeting by chiefs of the GCC
football associations, President of Kuwait Football Association (KFA)
Sheikh Talal Al-Fahad announced Monday.
The 23rd Gulf Cup of Nations was scheduled to be held in Kuwait in
December, after Iraq withdrew from hosting it.
The postponement request was presented at a meeting by the chiefs of
the GCC football associations in Kuwait, said the official KUNA news
agency.
After the meeting, Al-Fahad told the press that the postponement
request was due to the unpreparedness of sporting venues in Kuwait to
accommodate an event of such magnitude.
