DOHA: The draws of two GCC Youth Football Tournament were conducted on
Wednesday in the presence of regional football officials who had
assembled for different meeting.
Qatar Football Association (QFA) President Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa
bin Ahmed Al Thani and Vice President Saud Al Mohannadi were present
during the draws which were for a tournament for players born after
2000 and the for youngsters born in 1997.
The draws were conducted at Doha Sheraton Hotel.
Al Mohannadi said Ahmed Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Organizing
Committee, could not make it to the meeting.
The participating teams of Under-15 were divided into two groups of
three each: Group A has Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain while Group B has
hosts Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
For GCC Youth Tournament (for players born in 1997 and after), saw the
UAE, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia in Group A while Qatar, Kuwait and the
UAE were named in Group B.
The Under-15 event will be held from August 20 to 29 at Aspire Dome.
The Under-18 event will be held between September 3 to 12, officials said.
