Zurich, Switzerland: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday visited FIFA President Sepp Blatter at the Home of FIFA in Zurich.
The Emir and Blatter discussed relations between Qatar and FIFA, means of enhancing cooperation and Qatar’s continued progress in improving the welfare of migrant workers. They also reviewed Qatar’s preparations and efforts in various fields to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup. “It was an honour to host H H the Emir. Qatar is working hard to take advantage of the 2022 FIFA World Cup as a vehicle for social development that will contribute to the promotion of football in the region,” said Blatter.The Emir’s Personal Representative H H Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani and FIFA Secretary-General Jerome Valcke also attended the meeting.
Earlier, the Emir visited Bavaria State Capital, Munich, as part of his state visit to Germany. The Emir and his delegation was welcomed by Bavaria’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy IlseAigner. The Emir also met Minister President of Bavaria Horst SeehoferPrinz Carl Palais and discussed cooperation and economic matters of joint interest. Palais hosted a luchoen banquet in honour of the Emir and his delegation
