DOHA: HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani received Sunday morning in the Emiri Diwan the Qatari under 19 team who won recently the AFC Under-19 Championship held in Myanmar.
The meeting was attended by HH the Personal Representative of HH the Emir Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al-Thani as well as Qatar Football Association president Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Thani.
At the beginning of the meeting, HH the Emir congratulated the team players and members of the technical and administrative staff on their historic achievement which is the maiden title for Qatar in the tournament's 55 years history.
HH the Emir also praised the players' for their spirited displays during the tournament which earned them a thoroughly deserved triumph and return home as champions of the continental competition.
For their part, members of the team vowed to build on this success to further grow as a group of athletes capable of representing Qatar atthe highest levels.
