LISBONE, POTUGAL: The Prime Minister of Portugal, Pedro Passos Coelho, received the President of the International Center for Safety in Sport (ICSS), Mohammed Hanzab, and the executive director for Europe, Emanuel Medeiros on Saturday.
The meeting, which took place prior to the Lisbon Summit on Inter-Regional Sports Policies and interregional cooperation, organized by the ICSS 16 and 17 March, was accompanied by the Portuguese Minister of the Presidency, Luis Marques Guedes, and the Secretary of State Sport and Youth, Emidio Warrior.
"As a Portuguese, it is a privilege to have this opportunity with the Prime Minister, I am thrilled that the Portuguese Government is embracing this significant summit. It is recognition of the work and the role that the ICSS has developed into to preserve the values of sport in the past few years, "said Emanuel Medeiros in a statement.
Earlier this week, the International Centre for Sport Security (ICSS) has signed an agreement with The Olympic Committee of Portugal – the Comité Olímpico de Portugal (COP).
The agreement will see the cooperation between the Olympic Committee and the ICSS in a joint effort to safeguard the integrity of sport, promote the highest standards in terms of safety and security and work together in the areas of child protection and youth development.
