Jordan wins 2nd Asian Communities Tournament

Doha: Jordan winners at the2nd Asian Communities Tournament after beating Indonesia 5-0 in the final match held at Thani bin Jassim Stadium on Saturday. Khalid Mubarak Al Kuwari , Chief Operations Officer of QFA crowned the champions in after the HH Emir Cup semi-final between Al Sadd and Al Gharafa at the same venue. 12 teams have competed in this year’s tournament , Indonesia, India, Japan, Lebanon, China, Philippines, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Jordan, Malaysia, and Korea Republic. Deddy Saiful Hadi hasattended the final match on to show support toIndonesia as they played Jordan. who were backed by a large crowed that included the Hashimit Kingdom Ambassador to Qatar, Mr. Zahi Mohammed. Organised by QFA, the tournament is one of the tournaments that is organised to run along the period ofH.H. Emir Cup and acts as a way to excite the fans ahead of the Emir Cup final match in Khalifa Stadium. We have witnessed that the Asian communities in Qatar have great passion for football and as we are the football governing body in the country, it is our responsibility to encourage community participation in various football tournaments that we organise.” He added: “We thank the embassies, community leaders, and fans for the continued support they have showed QFA.One of the main reasons we are organising this tournament during the period of H.H. Emir Cup is because we recognize the Asian communities’ enthusiasm towards attending the Emir Cup matches and thus we are constantly aiming to involve all communities who are fans of the most coveted tournament of the year, the Emir Cup.”
