CANBERRA: Qatar's influential defender Bualem Khoukhi has regained
fitness ahead of a friendly against Wellington FC, officials said on
Monday.
Khoukhi was suffering from a leg injury but is ready for action, a QFA
official said on Monday.
Qatar are in Australia preparing for the start of the Asian Cup next week.
Khoukhi is part of Qatar coach Djamel Belmadi's plan.
The 24-year-old played a key role during Qatar's successful Gulf Cup
campaign in Saudi Arabia in November. He scored the winning goal in
the final won by Qatar.
The return of Khoukhi means Qatar gets to beef up their midfield at
the Asian Cup set to run from January 9 to 31.
