DOHA: South Korea won the International Cup U23 by beating UAE in the final in Doha.
South Korea won 3-0 after dominating proceedings in the title clash.
Mansoor Al-Ansari, Secretary-General of the Qatar Football Association, crowned the champions at Abdullah Bin Khalifa Stadium.
The ceremony began after the end of the match by honoring the staff of the match referees, Abdul Rahman Al Jassim, Talib Salem, Nasser Al Dous and Mohsen Al Sharkani, then the UAE team with the silver medals for second place.
In the third-place play-off, Kuwaiti beat Thailand 1-0 to finish in the third spot. Iraq finished fifth, a notch ahead of Thailand in fourth after beating Oman. Qatar lost to Saudi Arabia 10-9 in a penalty shootout to end in eighth place.
