Riyadh: Defending champions UAE were held to a frustrating goalless draw by Oman in their opening Gulf Cup group game at the Prince Faisal Bin Fahd Stadium here on Friday. In the other group match, Fahad Alenazi curled a last-gasp winner into the net to give Kuwait a 1-0 win over Iraq. The game looked to be headed for the fourth consecutive draw in the tournament but Alenazi scored from the edge of the area to secure the points for Jorvan Viera's men. yesterday, both Bahrain and Yemen failed to score in their Group A match, while Qatar and Saudi Arabia shared a 1-1 draw to jointly lead the group on goal-difference.
