Kyrgyzstan football officials host QFA, sign MoU

BISHKEK, Kyrgystan: Top officials from Qatar Football Association (QFA) and Football Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic (FFKR) met here on Tuesday and discussed matters of mutual interest. The two parties underlined the importance of carrying out exchange programmes to develop football in Qatar and Kyrgyzstan. QFA was represented by Vice President Saud Al Mohannadi while FFKR President Semetey Sultanov hosted the gathering. An MoU was also signed by the two officials as QFA and FFKR agreed to enhance cooperation between Qatar and Kyrgyzstan. The new cooperation agreement will cover exchanges in football knowledge besides creating opportunities for training sessions for national teams. Bilateral exchanges in coaching and refereeing will also take place in the future, officials agreed. QFA and KKFR will also establish a working group that will look into finalizing a timeline in which both countries could chalk out plans for playing matches and establishing football workshops. Later in the evening, both dignitaries were present at the opening ceremony of the new lighting system installed at Spartak Stadium. The new lighting system has been installed with combined efforts of FFKR and QFA, details revealed. The lighting system will be put to use to celebrate the first ever night game played in Kyrgyzstan in the 1970s later this week when the hosts play their FIFA 2018 World Cup Qualifier against Australia on 16 June 2015. QFA and AFC Vice President Al Mohannadi said: “It is an honour to be invited by FFKR to this momentous occasion of the first night-time match in modern history for Kyrgyzstan. We are proud to have participated in this joint project and we look forwards to continue supporting our Asian brothers in future development projects that can mutually benefit our two federations.”
