DOHA: Ismail Mohammed saved Lekhwiya’s blushes as they managed to hold Al Ahli 2-2 in the 12th round of the Qatar Stars League at the Al Arabi Stadium on Thursday.
Ismail, who had played impressively at the Gulf Cup in Riyadh, struck in the 94th minute after Alain Dioko raised the hopes of an upset win by putting Ahli 2-1 ahead in the 86th. Ismail had earlier struck in the 32nd to cancel out Ahli’s lead, given by Meshaal Abdullah.
Meanwhile, Al Gharafa, who were unlucky not to have taken home any point in the last game against Al Sadd, did not sweat much this time around as goals from Moayad Hassan (39th) and Huthaifa Yahia (62nd) gave them a 2-0 win over Al Kharaitiyat.
In the day’s other game, Al Khor and Al Wakrah played out a goalless draw.
