MALE: The Maldives football squad on Wednesday trained in the presence
of President Abdulla Yameen who interacted with the squad ahead of the
2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying game against Qatar.
The Maldives President met with the players ahead of June 11 Group C
qualifying game in Male.
Team manager Mohammed Abdul Latif received President Abdullah Abdulla
Yameen at the training session and later introduced him to the
players.
The President wished the team well and urged the players to do their
best against a 'strong Qatar side'.
The President said Qatar represented a tough challenge from Asia and
that his players needed to bring their A game to the match.
He urged Maldives players to exhibit a high level of game.
The President assured the players that his countrymen will be
supporting the team in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign.
