DOHA: New Al Rayyan coach Jorge Fossati has said his team would adopt a 'game-by-game' philosophy when the Qatar Stars League (QSL) season starts in September. The Uruguayan was roped in as coach at the end of last month when it was announced that the 62-year-old will manage newly promoted Al Rayyan in the 2015-16 season. "We have to be ready when the first game time comes. We will continue to work game by game and I think the toughest game will be our first QSL match in the new season," Fossati said in his first media chat after being unveiled as Al Rayyan's new coach. Fossati, the former Qatar national team coach and Al Sadd manager, was joined by Espanyol star Sergio Garcia who also signed a two-year contract with Al Rayyan. Both arrived in Doha on Thursday night. "We will continue to work with the young players and the new names that will join us," Fossati said. Fossati said he was impressed with Al Rayyan's desire to be build strong base for future glory. "Al Rayyan are one of the most popular and well supported clubs in the country," he said. Al Rayyan were demoted at the end of 2013-14 QSL season but the former national champions quickly regrouped and topped the Second Division to win QSL promotion this April. "The reason I accepted the Al Rayyan offer was because I have confidence in the club's management team and the players and of course the fans. I am sure we will put together a great performance for the fans," Fossati said. "I am eager to get started with Al Rayyan," he added. "One of the reasons I said yes was because of my knowledge about Al Rayyan. I have fair knowledge on the Qatar Stars League. I am confident that we can get Al Rayyan where it deserves to be," he added.
