MEXICO CITY: Qatar Ambassador to Mexico, H E Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Ali Al
Kuwari, on Thursday hosted a luncheon for the Qatar U-15 squad that is
set to feature in the 2015 Mexico International Football Championship.
According to details received, the team members were joined by the
backroom staff at the luncheon.
Qatar embassy officials were also present during the luncheon.
The ambassador wished the team well, saying 'the youngsters had the
potential to emerge victorious' in the tournament.
Qatar Football Association (QFA) officials later presented a QFA
memento to the ambassador.
The Qatari ambassador said: "Mexico loves sports and their passion is
football. I am sure these youngsters will do well in the tournament."
The ambassador urged the players to do their best during the championship.
In the opening game of the tournament, hosts beat Canada
3-1 on day one of the Mexico International Football Tournament.
In another match, Panama proved too good for Bermuda, winning 3-0.
The tournament will take place at the Centro de alto Rendimiento; the
high performance center and home of the Mexican national teams.
