DOHA:Qatar Football Association (QFA) revealed on Thursday that an official bid has been submitted to host the AFC Under 22 Championship to be held inJanuary 2016.
An AFC inspection team is expected to visit Doha on 14—18 September, 2014, to inspect the hosting facilities for the 16-team event.
QFA vice president, Soud Al Mohannadi said " Our nation has been hosting many international sporting events and also football competitions and we are looking forward to being the venue for this high-profile tournament."
He added " We are certain of our aptitude to host a memorable tournament, it will be yet another step in refining our organizational abilities towards 2022".
