DOHA: The Qatar national team concluded training today in preparation for the upcoming clash against Bahrain tomorrow evening at Al Bayt Stadium, in the opening game of the FIFA Arab Cup.
The team will look to win and get off to a good start in this vital tournament which is being played at home, at the venues built for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
Qatar's Spanish head coach, Felix Sanchez, encouraged his players to be entirely focused hours before the much-awaited opening game against Bahrain and worked with his staff to bring the players to the required level. The team will aim to put behind them the disappointment of the last few games in the European qualifiers, and there is a sense of optimism now in Al Annabi's ability to put up an excellent performance in this tournament from the beginning and live up to the aspirations of the fans.
Sanchez put the final touches on the formation and game plan during today's training in order to ensure that the team is fully prepared for the upcoming clash.
In today's training session, the coaching staff focused heavily on the tactical aspects that will be applied in the game and gave instructions to the players, summarising the approach to facing the Bahraini team and securing a triumphant start to the tournament.
"As always, we want to display a good performance so that everyone can be proud of our team," Sanchez said. "We want to fight for the title, but we have to be ready to achieve that."
He added: "The competition will be difficult, as all participating teams are keen to win the title."
