RIYADH: Following their progression to the final of the 22nd Gulf Cup yesterday;
Qatar on Monday trained for their Gulf Cup final against Saudi Arabia with the
much appreciated return of skipper Bilal Mohammed .
Bilal suffered an injury during Qatar’s goalless draw against Bahrain on in their
last group stage match, which forced him to watch his team-mates steamroll
through Oman in the semi-final from the sidelines.
Qatar coach Djamel Belmadi headed the training session.
Coach Belmadi is still hopeful of playing Bilal but he will wait on
the medical staff’s report before making any final decision.
Qatar will take on hosts Saudi Arabia who edged title defenders UAE 3-2 in a
dramatic contest.
The Gulf Cup final will be held on November 26.
