DOHA: Hosts Qatar on Wednesday posted a convincing 5-0 win over
Turkmenistan as the home side kicked-off their campaign in the AFC
U-16 Championship India 2016 qualifying matches.
In the Group C clash, Qatar dominated the proceedings from the first
minute as they found early momentum.
Ahmed Al Janahi (10), Mohammed Abdul Rahman (42), Hisham Ali (61),
Saleh Saeed (84) and Hisham Ali Samuffineh (90) scored for the home
team.
In Group A matches, Uzbekistan crushed Maldives 8-0 while Yemen edged
Palestine 2-0.
Nepal fought hard before beating Jordan 2-1 while Oman posted a 2-0
win over Kyrgyzstan in Group B matches.
In Group D, Saudi Arabia eased past Bangladesh 5-1 while India crushed
Bahrain 5-0 in Group E.
Afghanistan were held to a 2-2 draw by Syria in Group F.
The tournament ends on September 20.
