DOHA:Qatar went down to Scotland 0-1 in their international friendly,
played at the Easter Road Stadium, Edinburgh, on Friday.
Bournemouth forward Matt Ritchie scored the all-important goal in the
41st minute.
Scotland were the better team throughout and Qatar had nothing much to
take from the game.
The match was a part of Qatar’s preparations for the second round tie of the
2018 World Cup qualifier against Maldives, to be played in Male on June 11.
The match will prepare Scotland for their June 13 European qualifier against
the Republic of Ireland.
With only goal-difference separating them from second placed Germany,
Scotland are currently third in Group D with a tally of 10 points after five
rounds, meanwhile, Poland just sits at the top of the group with 11 points.
