DOHA; A gutsy performance saw Qatar SC on Sunday reach the semifinals
of the Emir Cup with a convincing win over Al Shahaniya.
Qatar SC won 4-1 at Lekhwiya Stadium.
At the end of half time play the winners were leading 3-1.
Goals for Qatar SC were scored by Abdullah Dayani (27), Cho
Young-Cheol (36 and 40), and Moses Mousa Al Allaq (75).
Mehrdad Pouladi scored for Al Shahhaniya in the 18th minute.
Much was expected from Al Shahaniya who had upset Al Gharafa and Al
Kharaitiyat in their previous rounds but Qatar SC proved too strong on
Sunday for the headline grabbers.
In today’s quarter-finals, Al Sadd take on Al Khor at 5.15pm, while in the
second match Lekhwiya clash with Umm Salal at 7.45pm.
