DOHA: Just days after their goalless draw against hosts Morocco in Casablanca, it is Qatar's turn to play hosts against visiting Peru side on Tuesday. Preparing for their two key assignments in the next five months - the Gulf Cup in November and the Asian Cup in January - Qatar have outlined a series of international friendlies. Qatar, ranked 92 on the FIFA computer, will take on Australia in another high-profile friendly on October 14. On September 3, Qatar drew against Morocco in an away game but the Djamel Belmadi-coached side will be looking for a win in the home game at Lekhwiya Stadium on Tuesday. Tuesday's game starts at 6:30pm. Qatar squad - under the watchful gaze of coach Belmadi - hit the training pitches at Aspire Academy on Monday. In earlier friendlies under coach Belmadi - who took over the reigns of the national squad in March - Qatar shared the spoils against Indonesia and Macedonia. "Despite the good qualities of the Moroccan team, our players were up to the task and their performance was really good," said Belmadi after their goalless draw against Morocco on September 3. "It is with such games against strong opponents we could move forward and improve our level both individually and collectively," the 38-year-old added. "On the technical side, it was a good warm-up match. We knew it was not going to be easy against the Moroccan team, but we were well prepared, we were well represented and we were more dangerous." Peru, coached by Pablo Bengoechea, are ranked 52 in the world.
