Doha: The Qatar national team has officially committed to playing in the “Jordan international friendly tournament” scheduled for October 13–17, 2023.
In an exciting matchup, Qatar will go head-to-head against Gulf champions Iraq. Meanwhile, the host nation, Jordan, will face a formidable opponent in Iran.
Both games will take place at the Amman International Stadium on October 13.
On the 17th of the same month, the two victors from matchday 1 will play for first position, while the other two teams play each other to determine third and fourth places.
Qatar is using this event as practice for the joint qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup and the 2027 Asian Cup. Earlier this month, the maroons played two friendlies at Al Janoub Stadium, against Kenya and Russia during the international break, with the former ending in a loss and the latter ending in a draw.
