DOHA: Qatar Football Association (QFA) announced that the national side will take on Scotland as part of their training camp at St George’s Park for the first phase of training ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. The match will take place on June 5 at Easter Road Stadium, in the Scottish capital, Edinburgh. This friendly will be Qatar’s second during a 10-day summer training camp in Britain; the first will pair Djamal Belmadi’s squad with Northern Ireland on May 31. The training camp at St George’s Park will be heldfrom May 26 to June 4. The match will prepare Scotland for their June 13 European qualifier against the Republic of Ireland. With only goal-difference separating them from second placed Germany, Scotland are currently third in Group D with a tally of 10 points after five rounds, meanwhile, Poland just sits at the top of the group with 11 points. Last month, Qatar managed to get the better of Algeria and Slovenia with an identical 1-0 scoreline in the two friendlies held in Doha. St George’s Park is the English Football Association’s national football center on a 330-acre site at Burton-upon-Trent, Staffordshire. The center was officially opened by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on 9 October 2012.
