Qatar coach Fahad Thani named a considerably different line-up to the one who crushed Tanzania three days earlier. An out of sorts first half Qatari display saw the visitors finish the first 45 minutes with an astonishing 3-0 lead, however, three goals from Ahmed Alaa, Abdulrahman Al Kurbi and Ahmed Yassir saved Qatar the blushes of a shock home defeat. Qatar will play another friendly against Senegal on May 20. Qatar’s Olympic squad is set to compete in the 2014 Asian Games in Korea next November.
