Qatar U-23 get set for Australia clash on Tuesday

    TOULON, France: Qatar's U-23 national team will play its first match in the Maurice Revello  International Football Tournament in France against Australia on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. Doha time.   The team played a number of friendly matches in preparation for the tournament and all players are available for selection except for Diab Haroon, who was injured in a friendly match and had to return to Qatar for treatment.   The other two teams in Qatar's group are Mexico and Togo. The top two teams in each group will advance to the semifinals, while the third-place teams will play for fifth place and the fourth-place teams will play for seventh place.   This is Qatar's seventh participation in the Toulon Tournament. The team has previously competed in 2009, 2010, 2014, 2015, 2018, and 2019. In 2014, Qatar won the AFC U19 Cup after participating in the competition previously known as the Toulon Tournament.   Australia is  making its first appearance in the Toulon Tournament.   The Qatar squad for the Tournament is as follows:   Goalkeepers: Amir Hassan (Al Arabi), Ali Nader (Al Khor), Yusuf Abdullah (Al Shamal)   Defenders: Mustafa Qadeera, Abdullah Yusuf, Saifuddin Fazlullah (Al-Gharafa), Muhammad Ayyash, Abdullah Al-Ali (Al-Rayyan), Abdullah Al-Yazidi (Al-Sadd), Abdullah Al-Sulaiti (Al-Arabi), Hassan Al-Gharib (Cultural Deportiva Leonesa)   Midfielders: Nabeel Irfan (Al-Wakrah), Nayef Al-Hadrami, Khalid Bin Saba, Osama Al-Tiri (Al-Rayyan), Muhammad Muna’i (Al-Markhiya), Faisal Muhammad (Al-Shamal), Faris Amir (Cultural Deportiva Leonesa)   Forwards: Muhammad Siraj (Al-Rayyan), Mubarak Shanan, Ahmed Al-Rawi (Cultural Deportiva Leonesa), Wilatfi Majer (Al-Duhail), Walias Bramel (Umm Salal), Ahmed-Sayed (Al-Sadd)
