DOHA: In collaboration with the Qatar Football Association’s (QFA) Referees Department, Aspire Academy for Sports Excellence has conducted a specialized workshop for fitness trainers, focusing on enhancing referees' physical conditioning.
As part of a year-long initiative to advance refereeing standards, the workshop combines theoretical insights with practical sessions and is designed to boost the referees’ on-field performance.
Held at Qatar University’s training ground, the latest session emphasized improving movement techniques and agility. Led by Sami Kuitunen, Head of Biomechanics at Aspire Academy, trainers from the Referees Department were equipped with actionable techniques to refine referees’ preparation programs.
This workshop is one of several planned sessions, introducing fitness trainers to the latest advancements in sports science. By adopting these innovations, the Referees Department aims to elevate the technical, tactical, and physical preparedness of referees to meet international standards.
