DOHA: In a key decision announced on Sunday, Qatar Football
Association (QFA) has cancelled the players agent licensing system.
This decision comes in the framework of regulations adopted by the
FIFA's Executive Committee with agents on March 21, details have
revealed.
"From the 1 April 2015 the system of licensing football agents will be
abandoned, and all existing football agents’ licences will cease to
have effect immediately," a FIFA statement said earlier this month.
This decision was approved by the FIFA Congress during it's 64th
meeting held in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
QFA is currently in the process of working on new regulations on the
organization of work with intermediaries, which will be approved by
the Executive Committee of the QFA.
