DOHA: A batch of Qatar Football Association (QFA) referees has arrived in Belgium for a series of lectures and training sessions, details revealed on Monday.
The QFA batch will remain in Belgium until August 19 before returning to Doha ahead of the start of the 2014-15 Qatar Stars League (QSL) season which kicks off on August 22.
The panel of referees will undergo physical training, attend lectures and make time for fitness drills needed to sharpen their skills ahead of what will be a busy season of football in Qatar.
Top European and Asian experts are also the attending referee training sessions in Belgium.
Naji Jowaini who is heading the group in Belgium said the experience of attending the lectures in Belgium would help the Qatari referees in the coming football season.
QFA regulalrly arranges such trips for its officials a number of times every season.
