Doha: The Qatar Football Association (QFA) is gearing up to play a pivotal role in shaping the officiating landscape for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, to be hosted in the United States of America, Canada, and Mexico. To facilitate this significant endeavour, QFA will host a FIFA seminar tailored for potential referees from Asia, Africa, and Oceania.
Commencing in Doha on Monday, the seminar will unfold over a span that extends through Feb. 29. The event will see the presence of key figures, including FIFA Referees Committee Chairman Pierluigi Collina, FIFA Referees Committee Vice Chairman, AFC Referees Committee Chairman Hani Taleb Ballan (QFA Director of the Refereeing Department), and FIFA Director of Refereeing Massimo Busacca.
The comprehensive program includes a blend of theoretical lectures and practical exercises strategically designed to equip referees with the necessary skills and knowledge.
