QFA holds Ordinary General Assembly Meeting

Doha: On Monday, the Qatar Football Association (QFA) held its Ordinary General Assembly Meeting. His Excellency Jassim Rashid Al-Buenain, Vice-President of QFA, chaired the meeting in the Lusail Hall at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Doha. The meeting was attended by members of the Executive Committee of QFA; Ahmed Abdulaziz Al Buainain, Hani Talib Ballan, Ibrahim Khalil Al Muhannadi, Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Thani, Abdul Rahman Majid Al Qahtani and Mansoor Muhammad Al Ansari, Secretary General of QFA. Clubs, GA members, QFA departmental directors and heads, and representatives from various media outlets were all present at the meeting. The most prominent result of the meeting was the amendment of the formation of the Executive Committee of QFA, which would henceforth consist of just five members from 2023 to 2027. Members of the General Assembly will be informed of the time and place of the next Extraordinary General Assembly meeting, at which elections will be held. The meeting began with announcing the completion of the legal quorum with the presence of all members per the statute after the Secretary-General called on each member to announce the convening of the General Assembly. After that, the meeting procedures began. The agenda of the meeting was approved, which included the speech of the Vice President, the appointment of members to review the minutes of the meeting and the appointment of vote auditors, and the minutes of the previous General Assembly meeting of QFA (held on February 9 2021, were approved. The audited financial statements and the independent external auditor’s report were presented and approved, and the budget was approved. The meeting also included, according to the agenda, voting on the proposed amendments to the Articles of Association of QFA for Paragraph 35 concerned with the formation of the Executive Committee, which stipulated that 1- The Executive Committee is the executive body of QFA and consists of seven members: a president and six members, provided that one of them is appointed as a vice-chairman in accordance with the provisions of this primary law. The amended text the members approved is as follows: The Executive Committee is the executive body of QFA. It consists of five members: a chairman and four members, provided that one of them is appointed as a vice-chairman in accordance with the provisions of this Articles of Association.
