Doha: The Board of Trustees of the Qatar Football Association (QFA) Awards convened to prepare for the upcoming 2024-2025 season, discussing various proposals aimed at enhancing competition and elevating technical performance across the league.
Among the key outcomes of the meeting was the introduction of two new awards. The Best Goalkeeper Award will be launched to encourage goalkeepers to strive for excellence, fostering healthy competition among them. The recipient will be selected through a voting process, adhering to official guidelines established by the QFA.
In addition, the Best Stand Award will be introduced to recognize and reward fan engagement. This award is designed to motivate clubs to build stronger connections with their supporters and encourage higher match attendance. Unlike the goalkeeper award, the Best Stand Award will be evaluated based on several criteria, rather than a voting system:
*Average fan attendance throughout the season, according to official statistics.
*Creativity and innovation in fan support, highlighting unique methods of motivation.
* Social responsibility initiatives and community involvement.
These new awards reflect the QFA’s dedication to improving both the on-field performances and the atmosphere in the stands, underlining the importance of fan participation in the success of Qatari football.
