DOHA: As part of its efforts to prepare the elite referees, the Qatar Football Association (QFA) will commence a refresher course ahead of the start of the new season.
The refresher course will start on August 24 and conclude on September 7. A total of 60 referees have been listed in the course.
Massimo Busacca, Head of FIFA's Refereeing Department. And Mike Van der Rost – Head of FIFA Video Technology, will be key officials headlining the course discussions.
Several referees, lecturers and evaluators from neighbouring Arab football federations, namely the Syrian Football Association, the Palestinian Football Association and the Djibouti Football Association, will have their representatives in the course.
The course will include theoretical and analytical lectures, video tests and video technology exercises using the simulator in addition to lectures on football law currently in use in England.
The course will be held at Sheraton Hotel. The discussions on physical fitness and training on the application of video technology will also be part of the course, QFA has confirmed.
